With whome Google is partnering?

Google's initial partners include a variety of utilities (large and small, rural and urban, privately held and municipally run) and one of the largest meter manufacturers. They all have one thing in common - a desire to serve their customers by providing access to detailed information that helps customers save energy and money. For now, Google PowerMeter is only available to a limited group of customers, but we plan to expand our roll out later this year. Our partner utilities are helping to lead the charge to make the electricity grid smarter and we look forward to working with them and others.

What is Google Power Meter?

Google PowerMeter receives information from utility smart meters and energy management devices and provides customers with access to their home electricity consumption right on their personal iGoogle homepage.

	Analyze: Get better information about how you use energy and what you can do to be more efficient.
	Save: Reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint by making smart decisions about your energy use.
	Share: Strike up a little friendly competition to see how your energy consumption compares to your friends and neighbors.

Google Power meter will be released soon and you will be able to reduce your electricity bills. The software will be completely free from Google. Google is partnering with a number of utility providers in world so that your power meter will have this facility.
